
Anthony Charles Edwards, an American actor, and filmmaker, was born on July 19, 1962.
In the first eight seasons of ER, he played Dr. Mark Greene, for which he won a Golden Globe and six Screen Actors Guild Awards and was nominated for four consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards.
Four times he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role on ER (1994), but he never won. Nonetheless, he has won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series and has been nominated for it four times. Prior to playing Dr. Greene, he portrayed bank robber-turned-cold-blooded killer “Dick Hickock” in the 1996-97 season’s best television movie, a version of Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood.
